Vascular Access
Long and short term vascular access and management.

Long term venous access may be needed for a variety of reasons. These include administration of medicines such as antibiotics or chemotherapy, hemodialysis, and frequent blood draws. Depending on the indication and duration of IV access, multiple options are available, many of which are listed below. Venous access procedures are performed as an outpatient with local numbing and in some cases moderate sedation. After placement of a venous access device, we work directly with you and your healthcare providers to care for the line.
Vascular access procedures:
- Port placement, evaluation and removal
- Tunneled central line
- Tunneled hemodialysis catheter
- PICC (peripherally inserted central catheter)
